Created by filmmaker Ava DuVernay, ARRAY Crew is a personnel database designed to connect below-the-line crew professionals, with a special focus on the amplification of women, people of color, and those from underrepresented backgrounds, with producers, studio executives, and department heads. The client needed a new role and permissions mgmt strategy to prepare for the beta launch. It was vital that users were restricted from accessing protected services and views within the application.

Approach
The approach for this project was broken into multiple phases. The first phase consisted of defining and implementing the underlining architecture for roles and permissions. This involved creating diagrams of existing authentication and authorization processes. Approved changes to the existing system were then implemented and validated for acceptance. This was followed by additional discovery with the client to identify additional roles and permissions and provide admin tools for permissions.
Designed role-based security architecture that restricts access to views and services based on user roles and permissions.
New login screen and admin tools for authentication and authorization
